Vessel Installations
“Living” Installations constructed out of found materials synthesized into handmade rope. Individual “organs” or “organisms” in the greater lattice are either interactable by viewers through listening, speaking, holding, and looking into or in some way exhibit signs of life such as breathing, moving, and being free standing/hanging.
Viewers are forced to confront and question the relationship to art objects as austere untouchable artifacts through the illusion of the installation(s) as an organic living being. The sculptures maintain the sense of mysticism that we project onto art while dramatically shifting the perception that is projected onto them, which the artist intends to help impart the epiphany of empathy onto the viewer/participant.
